Partnerships & Graduate School Visits
Experience Princeton... Come Visit for a Day
In fall 2004 the Office of Diversity launched a strategic
campaign to increase the number of women, underrepresented minority,
and socioeconomically disadvantaged students by identifying and
partnering with programs nationwide that target talented students
who have a strong likelihood of not only succeeding but excelling at
Princeton.
To this end, the office has formed alliances with programs such as the Meyerhoff Scholars Program (natural sciences and engineering) at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, the Ronald E. McNair Scholarship Programs (humanities and social sciences), the Mellon-Mays Undergraduate Fellows Program (humanities and social sciences), and the Jeanette K. Watson Program (social sciences, public policy and international affairs), encouraging them to visit our campus for a daylong introduction to the research enterprise and graduate opportunities at Princeton University.
In cooperation with the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the office is exploring partnerships with Howard University and Smith College.
In order to ensure the success of campus visit days, we routinely solicit faculty, current graduate students and administrators to deliver presentations about the research initiatives of select departments, student life and financial support packages.
