International Applicant Information

Language Test Requirements

All applicants whose native language is not English and who have not received their undergraduate education in a U.S. college or university must submit scores from one of two internationally recognized assessments of English language proficiency, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Refer to the Guide for Admission for more information.

If you are a citizen of China, Hong Kong, Korea or Taiwan, refer to our policy regarding taking the GRE exam.

Visas for International Students

The Office of Visa Services works closely with admitted graduate students and guides students with the visa process for entrance into Princeton University. The Guide for International Graduate Students is a great resource for students who might have any questions or concerns about obtaining their visa.
